He went through a phase of getting in Ev's handbag. It was tempting to put kitty litter in there, sit back and watch the fun start but the thought of being buried in a shallow grave off I-91 put me off.

Recently, Maddy has taken to hiding in the bath for some reason. Maybe he thinks it's safer than under the bed, a belief shattered when I started throwing water over the shower door.

As you might have noticed, Madoc spends a lot of time asleep.

"Having a cat and a rat will only cause trouble," said my mum. Luckily, the cat is thick as two short planks and the rat could rule the universe, so it only means trouble for Madoc.

There are tigers in India throwing themselves under trains at the thought of sharing DNA with Madoc.
