An overgrown alcove.

One of the windows, with a glimpse of the hills beyond. Again, you can see the fire damage to the surround on the left side.

I'm guessing that this used to be the font, although I'm probably wrong. Whatever it was, the strength of the fire split it in half.

The outside of the tower, the only part to still have a roof. We couldn't tell if the bells were still up there and even though there were the remains of steps on the inside I was damned if I was going to try climbing them.

The other end from the inside. The way the foliage had overgrown the walls made the ruin beautiful.

The fire-blackened stones above what would have been a doorway give a good idea of the intensity of the fire.

The entire church. The path is pretty well-worn, so people probably visit fairly often.

The walk back down the cobbled path gave some stunning views of Tintern Abbey.
