JULY 28

OVER the past three days, Emric has:
1. Spewed over the bedroom floor.
2. Grabbed the end of the toilet roll, pulled it out of the bathroom and into the bedroom, shredded it and then puked on the bedroom floor.
3. Buried Nemo, his favourite toy, in his litter box and crapped all over it.
4. Puked on the kitchen floor.
Emric is the best cat ever.

Madoc, on the other hand, is still a lump.

EV WOKE me at 6.30am to tell me about the attacks on central London. I'd read on the Guardian's website at 1am about an electrical explosion at Liverpool Street tube station and didn't think any more about it until I saw the TV news this morning. Luckily I've managed to get the BBC World Service over the net so I'm listening to that right now. I can't believe it. I rang my cousin in London to get more info and he's OK, as is his brother. Everything in London is shut down - the buses in Zone 1 are stopped, as are all Underground services from Zones 1-6; basically the entire tube network is closed. The strange thing is, at the moment I'm not outraged just saddened. One guy interviewed by the BBC said that a building opposite where the bus exploded in Russell Square was covered in blood. There's no numbers on the casualties from that yet but bear in mind the bus's capacity is 75. As of 8.19am there are 33 confirmed deaths: seven at Liverpool Street station, 21 at King's Cross, five at Edgware Road station. Everyone's now been evacuated safely off the entire tube network. There's a Flickr photoblog here. I'm particularly impressed by Bliar's assertion that Al-Quaeda were behind the attacks, a statement he made a good HOUR before it was confirmed and at a time when even the government's own terrorist expert refused to speculate on who was behind the attacks. As my dad said, if Blair's that psychic why didn't he see the attacks coming?

AFTER several complaints (well, three) and at great cost and inconvenience to myself, I've redone the July 4th fireworks pics to make them bigger. So go and look at them!
JULY 5

YESTERDAY was July 4th, a day when Americans get together to celebrate their debt of honour to General Lafayette. Anyway, after stuffing myself silly at Brenda and Marty's the fireworks kicked off and, making it up as I went along, I took a load of pics. And here they are.
